THE PRIMARY SCHOOL ŚWIĄTNIKI GÓRNE – POLAND Queen Jadwiga was the youngest daughter of Louis I of Hungary and of Elizabeth of Bosnia .In 1384 Jadwiga was officially crowned "king" of Poland (Polish law had no provision for a female ruler). Her coronation took place at the Wawel Cathedral in Krakow. There are many legends that correspond to the Queen Jadwiga. We would like to present two of them. First one is the well-known legend connected with Świątniki Górne - once called “Górki” It says that Queen Jadwiga coming from Hungary to Kraków saw the city for the very first time from the mountain of Świątniki, and that a broken carriage was fixed by local blacksmiths.
