Hole 1
No 1: Par 5 – Mens: 485 m. Ladies: 376 m
The initial feeling you get as you walk down hill to
your ball on the par 5 first is likened to stepping
back to nature. You have a water hazard at driving
distance to the left where water fowl of many types
will be paddling or using as a base to wander onto
the fairways. Things tighten up at the 150m marker
so set up your approach carefully so as not to be
playing pinball from the trees early in your round.
The green is heavily guarded and narrow but long.
No 2: Par 3 – Men: 172 m. Ladies: 146 m
The second is a testy par 3 uphill all the way to the
flag so take one more club that you might think. More
sand than the Sahara surrounds this large undulating
green which is unlike any other on the course so hit
for the centre. There’s trouble either side of a fairway
lay-up so make sure you hit straight.
