Answering the call.
Get involved with one—or a number—of our
many student organizations, like the Student
Osteopathic Medical Association. Volunteer
with local elementary students. Or run for
student government to help shape the future
of osteopathic medicine.
Learn by going.
Understand by doing. Go where you're
needed most.
Clinical training and research experiences in international
settings change the way our students practice medicine after
they graduate. Whether you eventually hope to practice
medicine in another part of the world, or you just want to
gain a broader perspective on health, disease, and health
care delivery, the Heritage College encourages students to
participate in global health experiences during their time here. The Rural and Urban Scholars Pathways program is for
students who are formally looking to focus their medical
career in underserved communities, both rural and urban.
As part of this program, you’ll get individualized education
planning and gain firsthand clinical experience, so you can
learn how to tackle the most pressing health care needs of
these communities, with empathy and efficacy.
We’re dedicated to meeting the needs of medically
underserved communities. Whether it's through
our community health programs, your clinical and
community experiences, or one of our many student
organizations, you can offer vital care and services to
those who need it most. You might help administer
screenings, give immunizations, or conduct physicals.
And at the same time, you’ll broaden your skill set so
that you can provide excellent care wherever you go.
You’ve found your voice.
Now use it.
