Green Colonialism and Environmental Racism is not a comfortable read: it is an intellectual slap in the face, a magnifying glass that reveals what is often disguised as“ exemplary sustainability”. The central thesis is clear and forceful: a large part of global ecological policies— from the conservation of reserves to certain renewable energy projects— reproduce colonial logic, where communities in the Global South pay the price for the green transition of the North.
Through concrete examples, the book dismantles the idea of environmentalism as a morally pure space and forces us to look at the shadows of the green narrative: the expulsion of indigenous peoples in the name of biodiversity, corporate capture of the climate agenda, international funds that perpetuate dependencies, and a narrative that, under the slogan of“ protecting nature”, decides who has the right to inhabit it.

Colonialismo verde y racismo ambiental no es un libro para leer cómodo: es una bofetada intelectual, una lupa que revela aquello que muchas veces se disfraza de « sostenibilidad ejemplar ». La tesis central es clara y contundente, buena parte de las políticas ecológicas globales— desde la conservación de reservas hasta determinados proyectos de energía renovable— reproducen lógicas coloniales donde comunidades del Sur Global pagan el precio de la transición verde del Norte.
A través de ejemplos concretos, el libro desmonta la idea del ecologismo como espacio moralmente puro y nos obliga a mirar las sombras del relato verde, expulsiones de pueblos indígenas en nombre de la biodiversidad, captura corporativa de la agenda climática, fondos internacionales que perpetúan dependencias, y una narrativa que, bajo el lema de « proteger la naturaleza », decide quién tiene derecho a habitarla.
