Continued from last edition
We arrived at the Mandala Hotel just before midnight, a bit worse for wear, having been on the move since early that morning. It was now time to get some much-needed rest in lieu of our itinerary for the following day, which included, among other things, a morning visit to the 17th-century Charlottenburg Palace. In the afternoon, our schedule would take us to another of Berlin’ s important landmarks— Checkpoint Charlie— the crossing point between East and West Berlin during the Cold War( 1947 – 1991).

Llegamos al Hotel Mandala poco antes de medianoche, algo cansados, ya que llevábamos en movimiento desde primera hora de la mañana. Era hora de descansar, algo muy necesario antes de afrontar el itinerario del día siguiente, que incluía, entre otras cosas, una visita por la mañana al Palacio de Charlottenburg, del siglo XVII. Por la tarde, nuestro programa nos llevaría a otro de los lugares emblemáticos de Berlín: el Checkpoint Charlie, el punto de paso entre Berlín Este y Berlín Oeste durante la Guerra Fría( 1947-1991).
