Who are we?
The man behind Martinete is Juan Martín Bermú-
dez (Málaga, 1976). Since 2001, Juan has been a re-
nowned Natural Park administrator and, for a period
of time, director of some of them. He is the founder
of Salarte, member of the local SEO/Birdlife in Cádiz
and author of a number of birding and wildlife gui-
des. Juan is a natural guide and a better host!
B Sc (Hons) in Environmental Management, Uni-
versity of Wales (2001) and Master’s Degree in Na-
tural Parks´ Management, Universidad Autónoma
de Madrid (2006), Juan has directed Natural Parks
and run numerous wildlife conservation projects.
In 2012, together with other independent profes-
sionals, he founded the Fund for the Protection and
Stewardship of the Salt Marsh, SALARTE; it is the
only private entity that manages a nature reserve in

Cádiz constituye una de las rutas migratorias de
aves más relevantes del planeta, pero también es el
territorio más antiguo de occidente. Es uno de los
mejores lugares del mundo para la ornitología; y el
puerto marítimo en el que Colón reclutó navegantes
para la Carrera de Indias.
Cádiz goza de una biogeografía única y supone
uno de los pocos “embudos” que las aves planeado-
ras necesitan atravesar para continuar hacia África
y la bañan dos mares; dominio de aves pelágicas y
marinas; sede de La Atlántida de los Tartessos, del
Meridiano de Cádiz y…

¿Quiénes somos?
El promotor de Martinete es Juan Martín Bermú-
dez (Málaga, 1976), gestor de Espacios Naturales
Protegidos y consultor ambiental desde 2001, fun-
dador de Salarte, miembro del Grupo Local SEO/
BirdLife en Cádiz, autor de guías de aves y naturale-
za. Anfitrión por vocación.
Bachelor Honours of Sciences in Environmental
Management, University of Wales (2001) y Máster
en Espacios Naturales Protegidos por la Universidad
Autónoma de Madrid (2006), ha dirigido Espacios
Naturales y realizado numerosos proyectos de con-
servación de la naturaleza. En 2012 funda -junto con
otros profesionales independientes- el Fondo para
la Custodia y Recuperación de la Marisma Salinera,
