Marina , with around 30 local cycling enthusiasts taking to Gibraltar ’ s roads to ride to Europa Pool via Line Wall Road to promote safer cycling conditions on the Rock .
Since it began in 2020 , the Safe Cycling Campaign is an initiative OTWO has been extremely passionate about , one that we will continue spearheading and promoting until green transport alternatives and infrastructure in Gibraltar are second to none . We would like to say a big thank you to Stuart from EBike Gibraltar and the UCM for spearheading the ride and helping to bring everyone together to continue spreading awareness for better cycling conditions in Gib .
Shortly after the cyclists arrived , the doors to the first annual Eco Festival officially opened at 10:30 am . At 11 am , fitness coach Justine Wilding led the first activity of the day with a lively aqua aerobics session which got people of all ages dancing away in the pool .
At noon , Minister for Transport Paul Balban , Pedal Ready Instructors and other government officials presented Pedal Ready Certificates to those who took part in this summer ’ s cycling proficiency course . Thank you to all the kids and parents for joining us on the day , and a big well done to all the children that received their certificates ; it is great to see so many young people learning how to cycle safely on our roads . We hope to see more Pedal Ready courses available to more people to help encourage more cycling in Gibraltar !
The event ’ s entertainment began with the incredible Yusef Moudden performing a chilled-out acoustic set for all the guests , followed by the one and only Adria Dalli – aka DJ Dalliflow with a lively DJ set for the rest of the day .
We had a total of 8 companies take up marquees to join us , all of which showcased their many incredible eco-friendly products and services ; AMA Services with their renewable energy solutions , Spirit of the Rock brought along their delicious local gin , which is produced and bottled sustainably , the Cycle Centre and EBike Gibraltar brought along a great range of bicycles and ebikes , Backing the planet , Unpacked and Eco Passion demonstrated just how easy it is to use and access day to day eco-friendly products and finally , La Linea Verde provided tasty vegan foods and snacks to everyone enjoying their la piscina para que los más de 450 asistentes pudieran disfrutar .
La jornada comenzó a las 9:30 de la mañana en el puerto deportivo de Small Boat , con unos 30 entusiastas locales del ciclismo que salieron a las carreteras de Gibraltar para pedalear hasta la piscina Europa a través de Line Wall Road para promover unas condiciones más seguras para el ciclismo en el Peñón .
Desde que comenzó en 2020 , la Campaña de Ciclismo Seguro es una iniciativa que apasiona a OTWO y que seguiremos encabezando y promoviendo hasta que las alternativas de transporte ecológico y las infraestructuras de Gibraltar sean inmejorables . A las 11:00 , la entrenadora de fitness Justine Wilding dirigió la primera actividad del día con una animada sesión de aeróbic acuático que puso a bailar a gente de todas las edades en la piscina .
A mediodía , el ministro de Transportes , Paul Balban , los instructores de Pedal Ready y otros funcionarios del gobierno entregaron los certificados de Pedal Ready a los que participaron en el curso de aptitud para ciclistas de este verano .
