A note from the editor Juanjo Trujillo / Creative Director
We live in strange days , where dark omens of shortage of some raw materials are mixed with hopeful proposals of respect for the environment .
We attended with surprise and admiration to the conference “ Products and producers of the Natural Park of the Strait ” a clear example of sustainable communion between territory and business projects , and it is exciting to know these ventures that apart from their commercial character promote good practices and the value for our heritage .
Our essential Sarah Birch brings us this month a report on the circular economy , perhaps one of the few productive strategies that can mitigate the collapse of an unbridled world . Making it clear that we must recover for the common good words like repair , reuse , recycle or share and reminding us of its three basic principles : design the elimination of waste and pollution , keep products and materials in use and regenerate natural systems .
Coamba gives us the gift of its monthly collaboration by telling us about “ Plogging ”, an environmental sporting activity that combines sport with garbage collection .
Another luminous proposal that makes you trust in the capacity of a society to protect itself from barbarism .
Or as José Antonio Duarte tells us , presenting an initiative to promote climate change using the bicycle as an element of rational use of energy resources . Along with an interview with the deputy of the Ecological Transition and Sustainable Urban Development Area , Mario Fernández .
We are also pleased with the second issue of the descriptive and lyrical Anthony Pitaluga on his journey from Gibraltar to Bordeaux to remind us of those words of the great Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa “ The best way to travel is to feel ”.
We believe we have come up with a geometrically and energetically circular issue , which together with the rest of our sections and news we hope will be to the liking of our growing readership . Moreover , before giving way to the feast that gives us this OTWO number 28 , we want to tell you that we resume the Green Week Gibraltar . But you ’ ll have to wait for our December issue to find out . There is no better way to end the year .
