Bamboo Toothbrushes. An easy
way to replace plastic in your life
All our family have enjoyed this one and it’s such
an easy switch to make. After trying a few different
bamboo toothbrushes on the market, we settled on
these from Hydrophil: a water neutral, vegan and
fair company with 10% of their profit going to Viva
Con Agua, a non-profit organisation helping people
get access to clean drinking water and sanitation
worldwide.
We found the handles to be more comfortable
and ergonomic than other designs. We also found
that with others, when you first start using them so-
metimes the looser bristles can come out, but that
wasn’t the case with these.
The bamboo used is the fast-growing and sus-
tainable moso bamboo from China. There is no ar-
tificial irrigation, nor pesticides or chemicals used
during growth. The bristles are made with a type
of castor oil making them petroleum-free and BPA-
free. The bristles also last longer than others we
tried and Hydrophil use natural solvent-free paints
for the end of the handles so there is less harm to
the environment all round.

Cepillos de dientes de bambú:
Una fórmula sencilla para
reemplazar el plástico en tu vida
En esta ocasión, toda nuestra familia a disfrutado
de un cambio bien sencillo de llevar a cabo. Tras ha-
ber probado varios modelos de cepillos de dientes
de bambú existentes en el mercado, nos decidimos
por Hydrophil: compañía que opta por agua neutra,
vegana y que destina el 10% de sus beneficios a la
organización sin ánimo de lucro “Viva con Agua”,
cuyo objetivo es el acceso al agua potable y el sa-
neamiento en todo el mundo.
Comprobamos que la empuñadura es más cómo-
da y ergonómica que la existente en otros modelos.
Incluso hemos corroborado que mientras en otras
marcas las cerdas se soltaban, en el modelo de Hy-
drophil, no ocurre.
El bambú utilizado es el “moso”, especie de rá-
pido crecimiento y sostenible, de origen chino. No
se utiliza riego artificial, ni pesticidas ni productos
químicos Las cerdas se fabrican con un aceite de
ricino que las mantiene libres de petróleo y BPA.
Además, son más perdurables que otros cepillos
que también hemos probado, y debemos destacar
que Hydrophil utiliza pinturas sin disolventes para
los agarres del cepillo, evitando daño importante al
medio ambiente.

rios colores: rojo, verde o natural. El tamaño infantil
