Climate change is inevitable . The climate has been changing ever since Earth was formed 4.5 billion years ago but these changes up until the 1800s have been due to natural influences such as plate tectonics , volcanic eruptions and changes in the Earth ’ s orbit . In contrast and more recently , unnatural influences caused by human activity have provoked climate change - more specifically the greenhouse gases relating to human activity has caused global temperatures to rise .
Greenhouse gases ( GHGs ) trap heat in the atmosphere and help to keep the Earth warm . This is known as the ‘ Greenhouse Effect ’ and it is crucial to our survival - without GHGs Earth will be about 30 degrees colder than it is today ! Since the dawn
