“ I am delighted to learn that the ‘ Good Friday Cycle Event ’ was an overall success and great to hear it was supported by a large number of cyclists . I must thank you for taking the time and showing initiative to arrange this event which we fully support and endorse . It is paramount to gather public support on cycling , after all this sustainable form of private transport reaps great benefits to the environment , our air quality and more importantly our health , be it mental and physical .
The Government and its Technical Team are working to deliver a number of cycling initiatives which will promote the use of bicycles on the road , as well as raising the awareness of cycling throughout Gibraltar . We are hopeful that these are to be announced soon as soon as final designs and consultations are complete .
I am more than happy to discuss with you with my Traffic and Transport Team on initiatives going forward which will be welcomed by the cyclist fraternity ”.
