By generating renewable energy locally , residents can lower electricity bills , boost the economy , and create jobs . With growing public support for renewables , Energy Communities foster sustainability , economic resilience , and social cohesion .

Pomponius Mela , the first universal Latin geographer , influenced medieval cartography with his work De Chorographia . Despite his significance , Mela remains largely unrecognized in his homeland .
In this month ’ s Marchapie , we feature an interview with Ana Ramírez , CEO of Geomalandar , a consultancy specializing in spatial planning and mobility analysis . Ramírez explains how geographers play a crucial role in urban mobility , using tools like GIS to optimize travel routes and create sustainable infrastructure . The growing trend of active mobility , especially in Seville and Malaga , reflects increased health and environmental awareness .
