GIBRALTAR SUSTAINABLE BUILDINGS GROUP
A first meeting was held at the Lecture Room at the John Mackintosh Hall on Wednesday 22 nd February for the Gibraltar Sustainable Buildings Group .
This group has been created to bring sustainable minded individuals in the industry of construction and development to bring together ideas on how we can create more sustainable changes in the local market .
People from all areas , lawyers , construction engineers , environmental departments , surveyors , and consultants all joined in a group discussion on how we can create more awareness and change legislation to improve the current situation .
In discussion it was clear that there was a need for this type of forum which at present there is none . It was highlighted that it would be a useful tool for the Gibraltar Government to have available when defining its own regulations in support of their green agenda . The idea of publishing a best practise booklet was mentioned as an immediate step that could be taken . We would like to congratulate Candice Marsh from AMA Services for spearheading this group and we look forward to joining many more meetings of this calibre soon . Grupo de Edificios Sostenibles de Gibraltar
El miércoles 22 de febrero se celebró en la Sala de Conferencias del John Mackintosh Hall la primera reunión del Grupo de Edificios Sostenibles de Gibraltar .
Este grupo se ha creado para reunir a personas con mentalidad sostenible del sector de la construcción y el desarrollo , con el fin de aunar ideas sobre cómo podemos crear cambios más sostenibles en el mercado local .
Personas de todos los ámbitos , abogados , ingenieros de la construcción , departamentos medioambientales , topógrafos y consultores , se unieron en un debate de grupo sobre cómo podemos crear más conciencia y cambiar la legislación para mejorar la situación actual .
En el debate se puso de manifiesto la necesidad de este tipo de foro , que actualmente no existe . Se destacó que sería una herramienta útil para el Gobierno de Gibraltar a la hora de definir su propia normativa en apoyo de su agenda verde . Se mencionó la idea de publicar un folleto de buenas prácticas como un paso inmediato que podría darse .
