El Ecoparque , el Duque de Edimburgo de Oro y los alumnos del Prior Park y del Colegio se unieron a otros miembros del público para recorrer toda la zona y los escollos para limpiar la basura y otros restos .
El Ecoparque recogió todos los residuos al final del acto . La cantidad total recogida en sólo 90 minutos pesó la friolera de ¡ 460 kg !
«¡ El trabajo en equipo hace soñar ! ¡ Brindo por las próximas 100 limpiezas mientras espero que cambiemos las tornas y demos la vuelta a este problema antes de esa fecha !».
NET ZERO DELIVERY BODY MEETING
Gibraltar Net Zero Delivery Body ( NZDB ) met for the third time on the 7th of February at No 6 Convent Place . Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia chaired the meeting with the Minister for Environment Prof John Cortes and Minister for Transport Paul Balban also participating . Senior officials from across Government departments , agencies and authorities attended the meeting .
The Board reviewed recommendations made by the Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Committee and Renewable Energy Committee . They also received an update from the Data & Reporting Committee . The Board then reviewed the progress made against the Gibraltar Climate Change Strategy and agreed on steps forward .
In a press release , the government said : “ The Board agreed with the importance of working towards specific projects , with workstreams focussing on reducing energy consumption , improving energy efficiency and encouraging the use of alternative transport options . The Board considered the need for holistic planning across the short , medium and long-term implementation of the Strategy , and what this means for Gibraltar ’ s infrastructure , demands and requirements at each stage .
The Board agreed to a strategy for the rollout of
Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure and outlined how EV charging demand will be met as the vehicle industry moves to phase out petrol and diesel engines . Commitments to explore offshore wind possibilities as part of the renewable energy strategy were also made , with solar projects also planned and in progress . It also agreed to establish a working group that would focus on increasing and improving public engagement and education on climate change .
The Minister for Environment , Prof John Cortes , said : ‘ Today ’ s Net Zero Delivery Body meeting confirmed important progress has been made by the working groups towards the implementation of a number of strands of the Gibraltar Climate Change Strategy . We are just at the beginning and there is significant work to be done that will amount to real change over a number of years ’
The Deputy Chief Minister , Dr Joseph Garcia , said : ‘ It is important that the Board meets in this way to work towards meeting targets within set timeframes and to draw together expertise as we work holistically to explore all possible avenues for progress .’
The NZDB is next scheduled to meet on Thursday 16 th May .
Reunión del Órgano de ejecución de Net Zero
El Órgano de Cumplimiento de la Red Cero de Gibraltar ( NZDB ) se reunió por tercera vez el 7 de febrero en el n º 6 de Convent Place . El viceministro Principal , Dr . Joseph García , presidió la reunión , en la que también participaron el Ministro de Medio Ambiente , Prof . John Cortés , y el Ministro de Transportes , Paul Balban . Asistieron a la reunión altos funcionarios de todos los departamentos , organismos y autoridades del gobierno .
La Junta revisó las recomendaciones formuladas por el Comité de Infraestructuras de Carga de Vehículos Eléctricos y el Comité de Energías Renovables . También recibió información actualizada del Comité de Datos e Informes . A continuación , el Consejo revisó los progresos realizados en la Estrategia de Cambio Climático de Gibraltar y acordó los pasos a seguir .
