As managers of this space , we must be capable of conveying the importance of carrying out these activities in a regulated manner in accordance with the Park Management Plans and conserving and enhancing the different ecosystems that make up this extraordinary place . An excellent tool for disseminating these values is environmental education . Thanks to developments in these types of initiatives , we shine a light on the great value of the Parks rich heritage , making it known to both young and old . Awareness and defence of the environment through knowledge is also promoted : to know , is to preserve .
The Directorate of the Natural Park of the Strait has been conducting an environmental awareness and outreach campaign aimed at different sectors of the population , highlights are :
The “ Know Your Park ” campaign aimed at Primary and Secondary Schools in the Campo de Gibraltar Region . During the months of March , April and May , the Directorate of the Natural Park of the Strait organised talks aimed at Primary and Secondary students at a total of 6 schools and 640 students . This campaign was carried out in collaboration with Environment Officers , who have actively participated in publicising the role that this group plays in the park ’ s development .
“ CapacitamE ” campaign , aimed at the disabled community . The natural and cultural values of the Natural Park of the Strait were worked on with a group of self-advocates from the APADIS Association of Algeciras . The students worked on creating a manual for the Natural Park adapted for people with disabilities . Recently , a conference was held for users of FEGADI online .
For the second consecutive year , the 2nd Natural Park of the Strait Training Day “ A Park with Resources ” was held at the Virgen de Europa Training Centre in La Línea de la Concepción . It was aimed at Infant and Primary Teaching Degree students . In addition to publicizing the natural and cultural values of the natural space , the tools available to aid environmental education were publicised and a participatory workshop was held as a practical example . Como gestores de este espacio debemos saber transmitir la importancia de realizar estas actividades de manera regulada , conforme a los Planes de Gestión del Parque , conservando y potenciando los distintos ecosistemas que conforman este extraordinario lugar . Una excelente herramienta para difundir estos valores es la educación ambiental , ya que gracias al desarrollo de este tipo de iniciativas ponemos en valor el rico patrimonio del Parque , dándolo a conocer a pequeños y mayores , propiciamos la toma de conciencia y facilitamos la defensa del entorno mediante su conocimiento : conocer para conservar .
Desde la Dirección del Parque Natural del Estrecho se viene realizando una campaña de concienciación y sensibilización ambiental dirigida a distintos sectores de la población , destacando :
Campaña « Conoce Tu Parque », dirigida a Centros Escolares de Primaria y Secundaria de la Comarca del Campo de Gibraltar . Durante los meses de marzo , abril y mayo , la Dirección del Parque Natural del Estrecho organizó charlas en Centros Escolares dirigidas a alumnos de Primaria y Secundaria , con un total de 6 Centros y 640 alumnos . Esta campaña se ha realizado en colaboración con los Agentes de Medio Ambiente , quienes han participado activamente en dar a conocer las funciones que este colectivo viene desarrollando en el ámbito del Parque
Campaña « CapacitamE », dirigida a la comunidad con discapacidad . Se trabajaron los valores naturales y culturales del Parque Natural del Estrecho con el grupo de autogestores de la Asociación APADIS de Algeciras . Los alumnos trabajaron en la creación de un manual del Parque Natural del Estrecho adaptado a personas con discapacidad . Recientemente se ha realizado una jornada para los usuarios de Fegadi bajo la modalidad online .
Por segundo año consecutivo se llevó a cabo la II Jornada Formativa del Parque Natural del Estrecho « Un Parque con Recursos » en el Centro de Magisterio « Virgen de Europa » de la Línea de la Concepción , dirigida a los alumnos del Grado Universitario de Infantil y Primaria . Además de dar a conocer los valores naturales y culturales del espacio natural , se dieron a conocer las herramientas disponibles de educación ambiental y se realizó un taller participativo a modo de caso práctico . Los Agentes de Medio Ambiente también participaron dando a conocer las funciones que este cuerpo desarrolla .
