mainly at students with special educational needs. To bring the Park closer to the special needs educational community, the Park Management made a proposal to the Association of Parents of People with Intellectual Disabilities( APADIS), to organise a play using the parks most characteristic species and landscapes as protagonists. The play, entitled“ El Faro de Punta Carnero”, has been very successful, and performed in various locations around Andalusia.
In order to bring the natural and cultural values of the Natural Park of the Strait closer to the educational community, the first Science and Art Contest“ Concienciarte”( Educate yourself) took place in 2019. It is aimed at the educational community based in the municipalities that form part of the natural area, Algeciras and Tarifa. The numerous resources of the Natural Park of the Strait serve as a basis to organise activities that help promote knowledge of the natural, cultural, socioeconomic and landscape values of the area. This competition is aimed at the entire educational community: Infant, Primary, Special Education and Secondary. More than 600 schoolchildren participated in this first edition.
Other activities that due to the extraordinary situation that has arisen from the pandemic could not be carried out, are:
“ A Park with Art”, a plastic arts contest of the Park’ s heritage
“ Reconnecting with Nature: The Natural Park of the Strait as a didactic resource”, aimed towards teachers of students from; Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary Education Centres in collaboration with the Algeciras-La Línea Teachers Centre.
“ Plant your Roots”, replanting partnership in the public mountain area of Betis in Tarifa, in collaboration with the Mosaic Climbing Association, the Betis Neighbours Association and the City Council of Tarifa.
What to see and do in the Natural Park of the Strait
The climatic characteristics are led by easterly winds( levante) and, to a lesser extent, winds from the northwest( poniente) and an average rainfall that ranges from 600 to 1400 mm per year. It is also led by the characteristic oceanography of the Strait, where the differences in fish population density between representación teatral del Parque Natural del Estrecho dirigido principalmente a alumnos con necesidades educativas especiales. Para llevar el Parque a la comunidad educativa con necesidades especiales, la Dirección del Parque propuso a la Asociación de Padres de Personas con Discapacidad intelectual( APA- DIS), realizar una obra de teatro donde se escenificaran como protagonistas las especies y escenarios más representativos del Parque. La obra, titulada « El Faro de Punta Carnero », ha tenido gran éxito, representándose en varias localidades de la Comarca y Andalucía.
Con la finalidad de acercar los valores naturales y culturales del Parque Natural del Estrecho al ámbito educativo, se convoca en el año 2019 el primer Certamen de Ciencia y Arte « Concienciarte » dirigido a la comunidad educativa de los términos municipales que forman parte del espacio natural, Algeciras y Tarifa. Los numerosos recursos presentes en el Parque Natural del Estrecho sirven de base para convocar una actividad donde se promueve el conocimiento de los valores naturales, culturales, socioeconómicos y paisajísticos de este espacio. Este Certamen va dirigido a toda la comunidad educativa: Infantil, Primaria, Educación Especial y Secundaria. En esta primera edición participaron más de 600 escolares.
Otras actividades convocadas y que, como consecuencia de la extraordinaria situación provocada por la pandemia no pudieron llevarse a cabo, son:
« Un Parque con Arte », concurso de artes plásticas sobre el patrimonio del Parque.
« Reconectando con la Naturaleza: El Parque Natural del Estrecho como recurso didáctico », dirigido al profesorado de los Centros de Educación Infantil, Primaria y Secundaria en colaboración con el Centro de Profesores Algeciras-La Línea.
« Planta tus Raíces », repoblación participativa en el monte público Betis en Tarifa, en colaboración con la Asociación de Escalada Mosaico, la Asociación de Vecinos de Betis y el Ayto. de Tarifa.
