I go to Ibero-America there is also no border when I talk about UNESCO there. When I go to Ibero-America, it is always as a representative of the university and sent by them to do academic conferences and such, but I always do something separate whilst I am there for UNESCO. The last time I went, I would like to tell you a bit about it because it was very important to me. I went to several universities in Colombia to talk about my subject and the field I work in, which is emotional intelligence. As I was saying before, one aspect of my work is academic and the other is UNESCO, apart from my work with the university I had some other fantastic contacts and some conferences with a group of women in Colombia who, to tell you the truth, needed a helping hand. These women suffered through the infamous FARC guerrilla war in Colombia from years back. These women had been used as slaves, sexual slaves, and as a result, had many children with the guerrillas. Later, the guerrillas used the children, some as young as 5 years old, and armed them. This was a collective of women that had been completely shattered that needed to be strengthened. I gave conferences in Medellin and in Bogota on how to become empowered, how to bounce back and how to overcome these terrible experiences. To truth is it is a very worthwhile collective. Those things are done via UNESCO. How are the programmes decided in the area?
I am the President of the UNESCO Centre of the Campo de Gibraltar, which works within the Campo. So that you have an idea, there are three centres in Andalucía. One in Granada, another in Sevilla and the one in the Campo de Gibraltar. There are several clubs, but just three centres. All the centres, like the rest of Spain, are federated, and I am the spokesperson of that federation. There are seven spokespeople in Spain, and I am spokesperson number one. That is why I travel to Madrid often for meetings or other things like the conference we just held here. The Federation decides all the activities, the programmes, the matter of subsidies, for the area of the Campo de Gibraltar and as spokesperson, I also represent at a national level. That results in having several tasks, such as travel, attending gatherings and conferences etc. Does anyone represent UNESCO in Gibraltar?

Gibraltar nos regaló viajes, hoteles. Se tiene que hablar con empresas, y se consigue, pero hay que hablar mucho y pedir favores y tal. A partir de este año esperamos trabajar con subvenciones. Y por ejemplo si hace falta los cuadernillos bilingües se pueda pagar a profesionales para que te lo hagan, lo impriman y lo repartan. Fundamentalmente, el trabajo nuestro de este año va a consistir por una parte fomentar la sostenibilidad en educación, con formación del profesorado. También intentamos hacer lo a ambos lados de la verja. Para nosotros no hay verja en nuestro trabajo, cuando voy a Iberoamérica tampoco hay verja y habló de la UNESCO allí. Cuando voy a Iberoamérica voy siempre como una vertiente universitaria, mandado por la universidad para hacer conferencias académicas y tal, pero siempre hago algo aparte para UNESCO. La última vez que fui precisamente, te lo cuento porque para mí fue muy grande, fui a varias universidades de Colombia con lo mío, que es la inteligencia emocional qué es en lo que trabajo. Ya te contaba, que es una vertiente, la académica, y otra sería la UNESCO y aparte de mi trabajo con la universidad tuve unos contactos magníficos y unas conferencias con un grupo de mujeres en Colombia que la verdad es que había que ayudar. Me refiero a las mujeres que sufrieron la guerra de la FARC, la famosa guerra de guerrillas de Colombia de años atrás. Estaban como esclavas, esclavas sexuales y tenían un montón de hijos con los guerrilleros. Luego los guerrilleros utilizaban a los niños hasta de 5 años y les daban armas. Era un colectivo de mujeres totalmente destrozadas que hay que potenciar. Di conferencias tanto en Medellín como en Bogotá sobre cómo empoderarse, como resurgir, y como superar unas experiencias terribles. Y la verdad es que es un colectivo que merece la pena, eso se hace a través de la UNESCO. ¿ Como se deciden los programas de la zona?
Yo soy el presidente del Centro UNESCO del Campo de Gibraltar que tiene el ámbito en el Campo. Para que te hagas una idea, en Andalucía hay tres centros. Uno en Granada, otro en Sevilla y la del Campo de Gibraltar. Hay algunos clubs, pero como centros hay tres. En todos esos centros, como el resto de los de España, estamos federados, entonces yo soy vocal de esa federación. Somos siete vocales en toda España y yo soy vocal número uno. Por eso tenemos
