And in line with World Environment Day , swapping out cars for bikes will have a massive impact on transport-related CO 2 emissions . This change will not only help contribute to the fight against climate change , but it will also improve the terrible air pollution conditions in urban areas such as Gibraltar .
The recent announcement of a new Cycling Promotion Association created by the Gibraltar Governments Ministry for Transport is a good step towards a future where cycling in Gibraltar is supported and promoted constructively . We hope that it leads to safer roads for all and even more locals taking to our streets by bike .
Thank you to all those involved in making the event such an incredible success and to all the cyclists that joined us on the day to show just how great cycling is . We would like to send a special shout out to Gary of Gib Scaffolding for setting up the temporary bicycle racks , Stuart from Drone Air for providing us with incredible footage , GibInk and EBikes Gibraltar for helping to sell tickets , everyone at Kokonut Chiringuito for their service , the talented musicians from MAG and Diexter Thomas for capturing the event on camera .
Thank you also to the GCA marshals Melaine Balban , Peter Buttigieg and Ernest Danino , who handled the important responsibility of marshalling the cycle and kept everyone safe along the route .
And finally , thank you to Minister for Transport Vijay Daryaniani for showing his support and joining us on the day .

Esperamos que esto conduzca a unas carreteras más seguras para todos y a que más gibraltareños tomen nuestras calles en bicicleta .
Gracias a todos los que han participado en el evento , que ha sido un éxito increíble , y a todos los ciclistas que se unieron a nosotros ese día para demostrar lo bueno que es el ciclismo .
