via ferrata’s there is a combination of metal ladders
and rock ledges to surpass, using your harness to
clip yourself on as you go making the ascent com-
pletely safe. Half way up, there is a wider ledge
which allows everyone to take a break and enjoy
breath-taking views of the New Bridge before con-
tinuing.
If you want to have another go, there is a second
and slightly harder climb. Reeling from the first
climb, everyone was excited to give this one a go
too. Walking back down again and starting at around
the same point as the first via, this climb incorpora-
tes similar feature as the first ascent except there a
couple of sections that are a little trickier.
After a couple of hours of climbing, everyone was
very ready to scoff their packed lunches and take a
stroll around Ronda. Most of us will have visited Ron-
da at least once, but there are plenty of reasons to
visit time and time again. The Ronda we see today is
of Roman origin, but its vivid history is etched into its
picturesque streets, with the Phoenicians, Moors, and
Spanish also occupying the town over the centuries.
