The Climate Coalition is the UK ’ s largest group dedicated to action against climate change .
With over 22 million people signed up , they have made history over the past few years by creating the biggest ever mass lobby for climate , nature and people . This has ultimately led to UK becoming the first major economy to set a legally binding net zero target .
One particular aspect of the campaign caught the attention of the Alameda Wildlife Conservation Park ( AWCP ) in Gibraltar . The # ShowTheLove campaign takes place every February around Valentine ’ s Day . The aim of the campaign is to celebrate everything we care about and want to protect from the worst impacts of our climate crisis . Every February since 2017 , AWCP has held a # Show- TheLove event , involving as many of Gibraltar ’ s sustainability , education and nature-based entities as possible .
It is more important than ever to recognise and appreciate what we love about nature . After all , it is only when we are involved and invested that we feel the urge to take action and preserve . Valentine ’ s is a time for showing love and the climate coalition has turned all hearts green and directed that love back to nature .
