of the Arroyo de la Albarrá and entering the northern
area of the Karst.
The plains
These can be found in the final area of the mas-
sif by its Western flank, and are located somewhat
lower than the left bank of the Guadiaro River and
the Karst de la Utrera; as a result, they work as a
basin that accumulates water. It is this characteristic
“basin” of Los Llanos, together with the tectonic pro-
cesses, that have created the colourful canyons that
“chop” the Karst de la Utrera at both ends.
The Canuto Chico
This Canuto is another small canyon parallel to
the Canuto de la Utrera, and perpendicular to the
Canuto de los Molinos. The Arroyo de Gainos runs
through this canuto, and taking an Eastern course,
flows toward the Arroyo de la Albarrá.
The Canchos de la Utrera
Is the highest part of the Karst, within it the rock
strata are practically horizontal, giving rise to ruin-li-
ke type structures.
The erosive process perpetrated by the elements
in this area of the
Karst vividly shows us the sensiti-
vity and permeability of these limestone rocks.

Los Llanos
Se encuentran en la zona final del macizo por su flan-
co Oeste, y se trata de una planicie situada algo más
baja que la margen izquierda del Río Guadiaro y del
Karst de la Utrera; por lo tanto funciona como cubeta
acumuladora de aguas. Es ésta característica de “cube-
ta” de Los Llanos, la que junto a los procesos tectóni-
cos, serán los causantes de los vistosos cañones que
“trocean” el Karst de la Utrera en sus extremos.
El Canuto Chico
Este Canuto es otro pequeño cañón paralelo al
Canuto de la Utrera, y perpendicular al Canuto de los
Molinos. El Arroyo de Gainos recorre éste Canuto,
y tomando rumbo Este, fluye hacia el Arroyo de la
Albarrá.
Los Canchos de la Utrera
Es la parte más alta del Karst, en ella los estratos
de la roca son prácticamente horizontales, dando ori-
gen a un modelado de tipo ruiniforme.
El proceso erosivo ejecutado por los elementos en
esta zona del Karst nos muestra vivamente la sensi-
bilidad y permeabilidad de éstas rocas calizas.
