cimens can be found. The four Iberian species of
horseshoe bats are present in this area, in addition
to several insects and molluscs discovered in some
cavities pending biospeleological study.
The area of Karst de la Utrera
The Canute of the Utrera
Is a karst canyon, with vertical walls that runs
through a river with a winter flow, cutting through
the Sierra from West to East.
The East Flank of the Karst (The Ramp of the He-
diondas)
This area is comprised of the end of the Karst
where it first begins to incline, up to the line formed
by the channel of the Arroyo de la Albarrá or Manil-
va River. It is here that the most important fracture
networks are located and therefore where the most
important cavities of the Utrera Karst can be found.
The Canuto de los Molinos
This canyon begins right in the eastern part of the
Canuto de la Utrera, and runs through the lower part
of the Ramp of the Hediondas, following the channel

ciones de murciélagos de más de 450 ejemplares.
Están citadas las cuatro especies ibéricas de murcié-
lagos de herradura en esta área, además de algunos
insectos y moluscos de algunas cavidades pendien-
tes de estudio bioespeleológico.
Las Zonas del Karst de la Utrera
El Canuto de la Utrera
Se trata de un cañón kárstico, de paredes vertica-
les por el que corre un río de caudal invernal, cortan-
do la Sierra de Oeste a Este.
El Flanco Este del Karst (La Rampa de las Hediondas)
Esta zona está comprendida donde los extremos
del Karst forman los primeros grados de inclinación,
hasta la línea formada por el cauce del Arroyo de
la Albarrá ó Río Manilva. Es aquí donde se sitúan
las redes de fracturas más importantes y por ello las
cavidades de mayor importancia del Karst del Utrera.
El Canuto de los Molinos
Este cañón comienza justo en la zona Este del Ca-
nuto de la Utrera, y transcurre por la parte baja de
la Rampa de las Hediondas, siguiendo el cauce del
