Three Cities, One Network All three representations are built from exactly the same structure. The fourteen nodes remain in the same positions, the twenty-two connections stay intact and the structural metrics do not change.
What changes is the variable organising the reading. In the first image, connection thickness represents the daily volume of journeys and colour distinguishes modes of transport; in the second, that same thickness represents the total emissions associated with each connection; in the third, it shows emissions per thousand journeys.
Viewed separately, each graph answers a specific question. Seen together, they reveal something else: the extent to which the same network can produce different visual geographies when the dimension used to interrogate it changes. None corrects or replaces the others. Each makes one property of the system visible while temporarily pushing the remaining ones into the background.
Together, the three images become an expanded reading of Delta City. The structure remains; what changes is what becomes visible.
Tres ciudades, una misma red Las tres representaciones parten exactamente de la misma estructura. Los catorce nodos conservan su posición, las veintidós conexiones permanecen intactas y las métricas estructurales no cambian.
Lo que se modifica es la variable que organiza la lectura. En la primera imagen, el grosor expresa el volumen diario de desplazamientos y el color distingue los medios de transporte; en la segunda, ese mismo grosor representa las emisiones totales asociadas a cada conexión; en la tercera, muestra las emisiones por cada mil desplazamientos.
Vistas por separado, cada gráfica responde a una pregunta concreta. Reunidas, permiten observar algo distinto: hasta qué punto una misma red puede producir geografías visuales diferentes cuando cambia la dimensión desde la que se interroga. Ninguna corrige ni sustituye a las anteriores. Cada una hace visible una propiedad del sistema y desplaza temporalmente las demás hacia el fondo.
La comparación convierte así las tres imágenes en una sola lectura expandida de Ciudad Delta. La estructura permanece; cambia aquello que consigue hacerse visible.
