Despite the daunting climate challenges , advancements in sustainable practices offer a glimmer of hope . We must continue to focus on these improvements and strive to make sustainable choices a priority .
This month , we cover a range of news , from progressive milestones to urgent environmental issues .
In July , OTWO advanced in journalism by joining the National Union of Journalists ( NUJ ), highlighting our commitment to high journalistic standards and media professionals ' rights .
In Peru ’ s Amazon , the Awajún and Wampis communities are fighting illegal mining to protect the Santiago and Cenepa rivers , where around 100 dredgers are causing significant ecological harm .
