OPENING OF THE ALAMEDA KUSUMA EDUCATION ZONE
On July 17 th , the new educational biodome opened in Alameda Park , Gibraltar , marking a big step forward for the community and the Alameda Botanic Gardens .
Dr . Keith Bensusan , the Director of the Alameda Botanic Gardens , expressed his joy and gratitude during the opening ceremony . " This project is for the whole community . It was a long road , but we did it . Thanks to our sponsors , we are finally here ," he said , also thanking Gamma Architects for designing the project and everyone who helped make it a reality .
Dr . John Cortes , the Minister for the Environment and Education , also spoke at the event . " This is a very special place for me . I ' ve spent 20 years of my life here . I am especially grateful to the sponsors and everyone who made this happen . Our children will benefit from it . Keith and the team did an amazing job without any government funding . This is a wonderful facility ," Dr . Cortes said before officially declaring the biodome open .
The new biodome is part of a broader plan to enhance educational programs at the Alameda Botanic Gardens . This plan includes improving visitor experiences , engaging with the community , and working with local and international partners . The goal is to teach people about the environment and promote sustainability . The new zone includes the biodome , gardening and demonstration areas , ponds , and offices .
A local survey was conducted to understand the current state of educational programs at the gardens , identifying strengths and areas for improvement . This feedback will help shape future educational efforts at Alameda .

El 17 de julio se inauguró el nuevo biodomo educativo en Alameda Park , Gibraltar , lo que supone un gran paso adelante para la comunidad y el Jardín Botánico Alameda .
