Nuestro estudio contribuye a la literatura sobre la relación entre la capacidad de la memoria de trabajo y la adicción . Esta relación es compleja y abarca múltiples posibilidades . Una hipótesis plausible sugiere que los individuos con adicción pueden presentar una menor capacidad de memoria de trabajo como rasgo . Sin embargo , una perspectiva alternativa sugiere que la propia adicción puede contribuir a disminuir la capacidad de la memoria de trabajo .
Además , es factible una explicación combinada , según la cual los individuos con adicción poseen una capacidad de memoria de trabajo alterada preexistente que se ve influida aún más por los efectos reforzadores de la adicción . El desentrañamiento de estos mecanismos potenciales representa un área crucial de investigación en posteriores trabajos de investigación .

The 3MT is meant to make students provide a clear rationale to convince a non-specialist audience of the value of their research , focus on their work and focus on its complexities .

Over the two-day event , students delivered presentations on a variety of topics ranging from Endangered Marine Species , Gaming Addictions , Gibraltar ’ s Military Fortifications , Dementia Care , Child Protection Practices , Education to Zoo archaeology .
Petros Dimitriou ’ s research focused on the conservation of Patella ferruginea , a critically endangered species with the largest population in mainland Europe located along Gibraltar ’ s coasts .
Dr Sonal Samtani presented the project on the impact of therapeutic intervention on a sample population of people living with dementia in Gibraltar . “ Before the start of the demographic transition , life was short , birds were many , growth was slow and the population was young ”
