They say if you do anything in life , do it with full heart . Post-pandemic and with all the war and disasters across the world , businesses are dedicating more time / budget towards their Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR ) and Charitable giving . As a business-owner of GreenCode , and in my efforts to do my part , beyond donation , this article is an account of my favourite trip to Morocco so far . In this case , what had influenced this feeling was that I had decided to participate and offer my time to RifCom , a Gibraltar-registered charity , committed to making a real difference to our neighbouring communities in the Rif Mountains of Morocco . These communities are living practically within our sight and yet are living below the line , in poverty . The RifCom team visit Morocco regularly and each volunteer funds their own stay .
All monies collected go directly towards the communities in need , and in this case , a small town in the Chaoen region .
One of the main pillars of the RifCom way of offering assistance is to ensure that those receiving assistance are willing to be active participants in the different programmes . The organisers and trustees have spent many years building close relationships with numerous individuals and community groups across the Rif and on this round trip , our focus was to co-design and co-coordinate a football tournament with and for young people in a small village in the Chaouen region .
In preparation for the big day , the RifCom volunteers had raised money via sponsorship from a variety of Gibraltar Companies to buy and print football kits for the participants , arrange for medals for celebrating participation along with useful gifts such as reusable bottles , toothbrushes and toothpaste . All these items were transported over from Spain and Gibraltar and assembled together with the team at a beautiful hotel hidden away in a small village called Tissouka .
The location was spectacular , the food was delicious and the people , warm and welcoming . The air was filled with excitement as we pumped up the music and prepared the backpacks for all young participants for the following day .
Meanwhile , about 30 mins drive away from the hotel , other volunteers along with the entire town , were preparing the game grounds ! All were physica-

Después de la pandemia y con todas las guerras y catástrofes en el mundo , las empresas están dedicando más tiempo y presupuesto a su Responsabilidad Social Corporativa ( RSC ) y a las donaciones benéficas . Como empresario de GreenCode , y en mi esfuerzo por hacer mi parte , más allá de la donación , este artículo es un relato de mi viaje favorito a Marruecos hasta ahora . En este caso , lo que había influido en este sentimiento era que había decidido participar y ofrecer mi tiempo a RifCom , una organización benéfica registrada en Gibraltar , comprometida a marcar una diferencia real con nuestras comunidades vecinas en las montañas del Rif de Marruecos . Estas comunidades viven prácticamente al alcance de nuestra vista y , sin embargo , viven por debajo de la línea , en la pobreza . El equipo de RifCom visita regularmente Marruecos y cada voluntario financia su propia estancia .
Todo el dinero recaudado se destina directamente a las comunidades necesitadas y , en este caso , a un pequeño pueblo de la región de Chaoen .

Los organizadores y administradores llevan muchos años estableciendo estrechas relaciones con numerosas personas y grupos comunitarios de todo el Rif y , en este viaje de ida y vuelta , nos centramos en codiseñar y coordinar un torneo de fútbol con y para los jóvenes de un pequeño pueblo de la región de Chaouen .
Para preparar el gran día , los voluntarios de RifCom habían recaudado dinero a través del patrocinio de diversas empresas gibraltareñas para comprar e imprimir equipaciones de fútbol para los participantes , organizar medallas para celebrar la participación y regalos útiles como botellas reutilizables , cepillos de dientes y pasta dentífrica . Todos estos artículos se transportaron desde España y Gibraltar y se reunieron con el equipo en un hermoso hotel escondido en un pequeño pueblo llamado Tissouka .
El lugar era espectacular , la comida deliciosa y la gente , cálida y acogedora . El aire se llenó de emoción mientras subíamos la música y preparábamos las mochilas de todos los jóvenes participantes para el día siguiente .
