A note from the editor

As a wife to my soul mate and mother of the two most
amazing little boys, there is no better project than the
one you are now holding in your hands. How better
to fulfil our ambition to look after the next generation
by doing our part to make the world a better place.
Over the past eighteen months or so, I have been
touched by growing public concern over climate
change. The problem has always been there, I have
always been uncomfortable with it but it always see-
med to be up to someone else to sort it out – our
politicians, world organisations, pressure groups. In
short anyone but me – I was too busy just trying to
look after myself and my loved ones, I just didn’t have
the time. Then I watched the amazing Greta Thun-
berg deliver her speech: ‘the disarming case to act
8
right now on climate change’ on TED talks...It was a
pivotal moment for me.
I realised that it was about each and every one of
us, and that it is actually not that difficult to do. That
far from being just the responsibility of politicians
and others, it is actually we as individuals that can
make these changes. I started adapting my life with
my enthusiastic family – straight into zero plastic,
strict recycling practices and anything else we could
do to effect change, which then led to many con-
versations with likeminded people and organisations
about our local and global concerns. I hope that by
bringing a focus to these issues, as well as all of the
positive things that can be done to lessen our en-
vironmental impact, will assist anyone who is thin-
king of changing their lifestyle to help our beautiful
planet..... It’s the only one we have! As my mindset
changed, I found all of these amazing and unseen
places just on our doorstep. From nature reserves to
ecological villages just hours away. It is crazy and
so exciting to be able to share all of these magnifi-
cent places with you. With my amazing team of Eco-
warriors, I offer you this magazine as a platform for
change, for our survival even. They are the backbone
of OTWO, without their help it would have just been
another dream.
What it could become in the future, depends on
all of us so I am really excited to hear your views and
ideas. I hope you enjoy this magazine as much as we
have all enjoyed putting it together.
Como esposa de un alma gemela y madre de los dos
niños más increíbles, no hay mejor proyecto para mí
que este. ¿Cómo cumplir mejor nuestra ambición de
cuidarlos?
Durante los últimos dieciocho meses más o me-
nos, me ha conmovido la creciente preocupación
pública por el cambio climático. Este problema siem-
pre ha estado ahí, siempre me ha incomodado, pero
siempre me ha parecido que alguien más puede re-
solverlo: nuestros políticos, organizaciones mundia-
les, grupos de presión. En resumen, todo el mundo
menos yo, estaba demasiada ocupada tratando de
cuidarme a mí misma y a mis seres queridos, simple-
mente no tenía tiempo.
Luego vi a la increíble Greta Thunberg pronunciar

su discurso en las charlas de TED. Fue un momento
importante para mí. Me di cuenta de que se trataba
de todos y cada uno de nosotros, y en realidad no es
tan difícil de hacer. Que, lejos de ser la responsabi-
lidad de los políticos y otros, en realidad, solo no-
sotros, como individuos, podemos solucionar esto.
Comencé a adaptar mi vida con mi entusiasta
equipo familiar, directamente a Zero Plastic, prácti-
cas estrictas de reciclaje y cualquier otra cosa que
podamos hacer.
Esto ha derivado a muchas conversaciones con
personas y organizaciones sobre nuestras preocupa-
ciones locales y globales.
Espero que al centrarnos en esto y en todas las
cosas positivas que se pueden hacer, ayudemos a
cualquier persona que esté pensando en cambiar su
estilo de vida para ayudar al medio ambiente. ¡Es el
único que tenemos!
A medida que mi mentalidad cambió, encontré to-
dos estos lugares increíbles y desconocidos justo a
la vuelta de la esquina. Desde las reservas naturales
hasta los pueblos ecológicos a solo unas horas de
distancia. Es una locura y es tan emocionante poder
compartir todos nuestros hallazgos con vosotros.
Con mi increíble equipo de guerreros ecológicos,
les ofrezco esta revista como plataforma para el
cambio, incluso para nuestra supervivencia. Son lo
que es OTWO, sin su ayuda solo sería un sueño. En
lo que se convertirá, dependerá de todos nosotros,
estoy muy emocionado de escuchar sus opiniones e
ideas.
Espero que disfruten de esta revista tanto como
todos hemos disfrutado creándola.
