The concept of Natura et Proesis highlights the duality between what is given by nature and what is produced by the human mind. While nature provides the essential elements for creation— materials, resources, and inspiration— human creativity reshapes them into something new and original.
At its core, this expression invites us to reflect on the interdependence between nature and creativity. It reminds us that we are part of a vast and complex universe, where our ability to innovate emerges in dialogue with the world around us. Likewise, it calls us to appreciate the beauty and diversity of the natural world, emphasizing our responsibility to preserve it as a priceless legacy.
Under a persistent and much-needed rain, which only reinforced the event’ s message rather than deterring attendees, the launch of OTWO Magazine drew a large and enthusiastic crowd on Wednesday, March 12, at the halls of the esteemed Unión Cultural y Deportiva Linense. Organized by the Ateneo de la Bahía Campo de Gibraltar, the event became an unmissable gathering for activists, experts, and environmentally conscious citizens, filling every seat in the venue.
The evening began with remarks from Lourdes Ojeda, spokesperson for the Ateneo, who emphasized the importance of spreading ecological thought in a time of climate crisis. She then introduced Vanessa Byrne, director of the magazine, who expressed gratitude for the warm reception and outlined OTWO’ s editorial vision— a balance of scientific rigor and accessibility.“ OTWO Magazine aims to become a reference in sustainability, nature conservation, and love for the planet,” she stated, earning a round of applause from the audience.
Next, Juanjo Trujillo, co-editor and creative director, took the floor to share the magazine’ s journey— its origins, development, major awards, and partnerships with leading institutions. Eight Key Interventions for a Sustainable Future The event continued with eight short presentations, each lasting ten minutes, delivered by collaborators and partner organizations.
