time for floods in this region , obtains results necessary for the generation of early flood warnings in Andalusia . Having this information in advance by using it as a complement to the outputs of the prediction models could prevent natural disasters in the Andalusian environment and personal losses as in the recent case of the Huelva-Cádiz-Málaga floods in 2016 in which 2 people died . Although extreme precipitation events that cause floods are less frequent than droughts in Andalusia , both are direct consequences of climate change and are events that will occur , according to the IPCC , with greater frequency and intensity in our region . In particular , floods are more " lethal " than droughts in a shorter time interval because they can kill many people at once and cause a great deal of damage . These results have been submitted for publication in a scientific journal and because they are so promising , it is intended to extend this study among the authors of the journal to droughts .
