Workshops such as History , Literature ( with a section dedicated to creative writing ) or Traditions and Customs were bringing together a group of people whose enthusiasm and dedication have allowed , now that the return to normality is taking hold , to shed the virtual label and , without giving up cyber contact , to start face-to-face activities .
Among the founding purposes of the Ateneo is the creation of a meeting point for all those interested in creating a cultural fabric independent from institutional fluctuations and alien to the prevailing impoverishing formulas . It promotes the exchange of experiences to combat the waves of vulgarity , mediocrity and conformism that increasingly lower the cultural level ; the harmonious coexistence between intellectual rigor and informative tasks ; the establishment of a climate of respect that allows the exchange of convictions outside sectarian , intolerant or antidemocratic attitudes ; the promotion of the preservation of heritage and environmental values as a guarantee of civilization and future ; the promotion of scenarios where , depending on the context , seriousness can alternate with a relaxed atmosphere of natural cordiality ; and , finally , all activities that favor the development of cultural values as a source of close and accessible satisfaction .
Under these guidelines the Entity has evolved during the last two years until , finally , in the middle of last March , the public acts started with the presentation in La Línea of “ La segunda parte de los cuatrocientos golpes ”, a book that combines graphic resolutions and brief narrative , work of the person who has signed his creations under the name of Aclamado Federico . On behalf of the Ateneo , the event was introduced by José Beneroso and Alicia Ramos ; then , Susana Oda read an introduction written by the writer José Villalba , followed by the author of the book , who , in full harmony with the character of the texts , gave the audience a relaxed and enjoyable evening . The Ares bookstore collaborated , making available to attendees a point of purchase of books , and the Unión Cultural Deportiva Linense , providing its facilities for the celebration of the meeting , and whose president , Manuel Vilches , closed the event with words of gratitude and satisfaction .
