Adventure in the Sierra de Grazalema . Canyoning in the “ Pajaruco River ”.

Our adventure takes place in one of the most emblematic Natural Parks of Andalusia : Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park . Located between the municipalities of Benaocaz and Ubrique , this river is dry most of the year , but in the months of November to April , can increase its flow and will be very interesting for the practice of cannoning or cannoning .
Cannoning is the descent of a river , usually in its upper section , where due to erosion ; the river is modeled with very different shapes where we will have to improvise handrails , jumps or rappels . This canyon is considered Level 1 for its duration , but it is a totally initiation activity since all its difficulties are optional and we can always use an alternative way to overcome it .
For the adventure , we will have all the necessary technical equipment : wetsuits 3 or 5 mm depending on the temperature , harness , helmet , and collective technical material for the descent .
El Barranco . Located in the province of Cádiz , the Pajaruco River is a natural tributary stream of the Majaceite River . The ravine that bears his name is located within the valley known as “ Valle del Suspiro del Moro ”, descends the stream of the same name from Benaocaz .
It is normally dry , except when there are recent rains . It is a canyon that passes right through a narrowing of more than 70 meters deep .
After a brief approach by a parallel path on the right side , we enter the river . In its most sporty part , it consists of several skills and three rappels ( all-avoidable ) of 6 , 8 and the highest one that ends in the “ Vuelo del Pajaruco ” to more than 15 meters high . It is a safe canyon and ideal for beginners in this
