Bolivia
Bolivia is perhaps the nation where the conquistadors had higher resistance. It is
a nation where the Inca Empire is the basis of their customs and a nation where
their gods continue in full force.
A resistance that still lingers
It is a very common fact
because Bolivians have not lost
their customs, their way of life
and although they had to admit
to other gods, they have never
stopped worshiping their own. It
is probably the most resistance
conquered nation opposed to the
conquerors. In Bolivia customs
of the Western world with the
inherited ancestral values of the
Aymara and Quechua cultures
coexists.
The life of the colonial
institution, the practice of
justice, the defense of the
Indians for human reasons and
privileges of Spaniards and
Creoles on the mestizos were
engines of the war of
emancipation.
The Spaniards brought their
own emancipatory war and the
effectiveness of its institutions,
for their own benefit, not for the
Indians.
