Inspiring futures at The OT Practice
Our nationwide reputation as an independent practice means that occupational therapists who join us can quickly see the opportunities to develop and grow their capabilities across a variety of settings .
With over 350 registered occupational therapists around the UK , we are the largest independent OT practice . In 2023 , we helped almost 9,500 clients to meet their goals . Our OTs amass varied experience by working with clients referred to us by case managers , private individuals , charities , local authorities , NHS , schools and more .
That ’ s why we can confidently say that we help our OTs develop portfolio careers they can be proud of .
This is our third year supporting RCOT ’ s Annual Conference as headline sponsor . We plan to explore why it is that , in private practice , ‘ inspiring futures ’ is at the heart of what we do – both for our occupational therapists in their careers and for our clients through meaningful interventions .
What is special about The OT Practice ? We were founded by an occupational therapist and since our inception in 2011 , we continue to provide a viable and diverse pathway for occupational therapists wanting to expand their careers , work part-time , or gain the freedom to explore all their skillsets outside of a more defined role .
We have occupational therapists already in independent practice , working in the public sector , or starting private practice alongside a public sector role , and we enable them to succeed .
Every step of the way our occupational therapists benefit from tailored support and advice . We share exciting opportunities to collaborate and develop as part of The OT Practice team of expert occupational therapists .
With our Professional Head of Occupational Therapy championing quality and a clinical lead team providing unique CPD for therapists , our occupational therapists can expand their horizons , experiencing comprehensive career enhancement underpinned by an informative learning and development platform .
Our occupational therapists have access to bespoke IT systems that help them to efficiently manage their caseloads . A library of policies is in place to ensure safe practices , with ongoing updates to manage any risks associated with data and related governance .
Assistance from our in-house administrative team , who handle all client liaison tasks , frees our occupational therapists to focus on their expertise .
As headline sponsors of the 2024 RCOT Annual Conference , we look forward to seeing you at our ‘ Inspiring Futures ’ series of seminar talks . Book your place now .
A gateway for healthcare professionals into the Motability Scheme
As Scheme Stakeholder Executive at Motability Operations , Ross Smith ’ s role is to provide a gateway for healthcare professionals into the Motability Scheme .
‘ As an occupational therapy professional , you ’ ll come across many people with mobility challenges , often as their need for additional mobility support arises ,’ he says . ‘ The Motability Scheme can help address this need in a very cost effective and accessible way .
‘ We offer a wide range of solutions to many mobility needs , to help people live well in their communities despite having health conditions . We provide them with mobility solutions , so they ’ re not left behind . ‘ Your patients can get an adapted car , wheelchair accessible vehicle ( WAV ), scooter or powered wheelchair .’
In a session at Annual Conference , Ross will talk about who is eligible for the Motability Scheme , including what happens when a patient hits 66 years old , the range of options available on the Motability Scheme and how it works .
‘ I ’ ll give real life examples – my own included – of Motability Scheme users and answer questions ,’ he adds . ‘ Our worry-free package includes insurance for three drivers , servicing and MOTs , and breakdown cover . If someone ’ s leasing their first fully electric car on the Motability Scheme , we ’ ll support them with charging their car too .’
