Student education and decide on the projects we wanted to work on and how we would present them ,’ Codie says . ‘ This pushed me to work efficiently and creatively , as well as developing my organisation and planning skills .

‘ The main project involved the creation and development of six case studies that would be used for the PEEP . We took inspiration from the original PEEP , designed by Dr Lisa Taylor and Professor Gilly Salmon . We took time to research and understand its pedagogical underpinnings , the five-stage model of learning that it is created on and the importance of this sustainable placement model ’ www . educationalchemists . com / placements . html #).
‘ It was important to us to portray this to students , as well as the fact that the PEEP initiative is an exciting opportunity for enriching and valuable peer learning that is unique from traditional face-to-face placements ’ ( Taylor 2020 ).’
An engaging leaflet was subsequently created that will be given to students and practice educators at the start of the next academic year .
Dr Clarke concludes : ‘ It has been a pleasure to watch the four grow in confidence throughout the seven weeks and incredible to see what they have been able to achieve and the quality outputs that leave a lasting legacy that will enrich our courses , students ’ and educators ’ experiences .
‘ They have been able to apply the occupational therapy process and meet their learning outcomes in a creative way and had leadership opportunities that have enabled them to develop skills and confidence that they will be able to apply in clinical practice and in becoming our leaders of tomorrow .’
Over the course of the placement , I have been involved in a variety of projects within the university , which have challenged me to be evidence based in my research . Integrating theory into my practice has helped me to be self-directed in my study and to stay engaged in my learning and dedication to the most up-todate research .”
