EDB strategy consultation
RCOT has published its draft Equity , Diversity and Belonging ( EDB ) strategy and would like your thoughts . You can feed into this consultation between 26 June and 18 August 2023 . The strategy is based on the views and needs of members , colleagues and stakeholders with direct experience of , or insights into , the discrimination and disadvantages faced by members and the people they provide services to .

Co-design , production and creation have different meanings . There was ambition to drive co-creation with involvement from the start , to feel heard , and feel we had an influence . Yet , this sense of co-creation has been gradual . Now , as an expert advisory group we have learnt to ensure co-creation in the centre of what we do .
Above all we hope that the work that we have done in raising our visibility within the profession shows that it is okay to be who you are and to celebrate the unique set of tools you have as a professional or student with lived experience in the profession .
What are the next steps ? We want to maintain our critical friendship with the professional body to enhance the accessibility of the profession and the voice of those with lived experience . Accessibility no longer needs to be the afterthought .
As an expert advisory group our priority is to harness a profession that embraces those with lived experiences to work within it , only then can we say we truly belong .
We want to attract more members to the expert advisory group , to ensure equity of the lived experience voice . Please do get in touch to join us because we are stronger together .
