The RCOT Publications Group ( RPG ) provides a quality assurance role in reviewing proposals and drafts of resources produced by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and its branches . The group includes RCOT members and public contributors who bring their expertise and specialism to the review of documents . RPG also has a key role in RCOT ’ s NICE-accredited practice guideline development process , by ensuring that relevant quality criteria are met throughout the process .
We are looking for three RCOT members to join RPG to fulfil the following roles :
• Learning disabilities representative ;
• Education representative ;
• Inclusion and accessibility representative .
To be eligible you should :
• Be a RCOT member ;
• Work with people with learning disabilities ; or
• Work in a higher education institution ; or
• Have lived experience , for example an RCOT member who has dyslexia ;
• Have experience of developing professional documentation and evidence-based practice ; and
• Have at least five to six years ’ experience .
Time commitment The term of office is three years . There are two virtual meetings a year , plus work between meetings reviewing documents as required . The work between meetings can vary in length . RPG members may review between six and 10 resources a year ; the length of time to review depends on the type and length of document . RCOT gives as much notice as possible for RPG members to complete this work .
Start date The term of office will start as soon as the role has been offered and accepted .
