COVID-19 : the experience in a regional acute hospital

COVID-19 has changed the way all of us live and work . At
Addenbrooke ’ s Hopsital , part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust ( CUH ), there were dramatic changes to our practice , but these changes have had a positive influence on the department and the recognition of the profession within the hospital .
The occupational therapy department at Addenbrooke ’ s covers 11 speciality teams . Each has felt the impact of COVID-19 on their work in different ways , but the lessons learned over the pandemic have proven invaluable . Here we reflect on a few examples .
