Proposals for long-term future of social care and support in Wales under consideration
A consultation has launched in Wales on proposals for legislation that would improve social care and support , and partnership working to better support people ’ s wellbeing .
The plans are looking at reviewing the way that care and support are arranged and provided , shifting the focus of commissioning towards outcomes and social value , and strengthening regional integration .
Dai Davies , RCOT professional practice lead in Wales , said : ‘ These are significant proposals as they talk about long-term solutions to enhance the system and ensure sustainable social services in Wales that support people to achieve wellbeing .
‘ In line with plans for better regional integration , we are calling for legislation to strength regional services to avoid a postcode lottery in relation to services .’
