We cover the financial , legal and sales advice you need to be an independent OT , including bookkeeping , tax , VAT , getting paid , insurance , liability , finding customers what work is there for OTs , how to calculate your rate . Do you work in a role that involves visiting people at home ?
Join us on this popular two-day course designed to train and accredit a range of staff as Trusted Assessors . Learners are taught to assess , measure for , and prescribe a range of minor aids and adaptations through a blend of theory and hands-on use of equipment and to know when to refer to an Occupational Therapist ( OT ) for more complex cases . This is an all-new course accredited by OCN London at level three designed to be in line with the national qualification . Our trainers are OTs with extensive experience in home adaptations . Cost : £ 395 plus VAT so £ 474 inc VAT per person for the two day course .
Major adaptations in occupational therapy practice
6 and 20 March 2024 ( two day course ) Remote course
This course is aimed at OTs new in the area of major adaptation recommendation and preparation sharing knowledge gained over 30 years of working as an OT in adult social care . Topic include : Relevant legislation , scale drawings , bathrooms , internal and external access solutions ; considerations when designing for wheelchair owners . The course includes online presentations and practical tasks and is spread over two days . Cost : First 10 people to book pay £ 36 per day , all others £ 60 per day – two day course .
Risk assessment for occupational therapists
20 March 2024 Remote course
This course will consider the use of risk assessment as a tool to assist with clinical decisions as an occupational therapist working in the community . It covers principles of risk assessment and management , how to risk assess to help with best interest decisions , functional assessments and provision of equipment or adaptations . Time : 10am to 1.45pm . Cost : £ 36 per person for the first 10 people , then £ 60 per person ( inc VAT ).
Walking aids training for OTs
10 April 2024 Remote course
This training is designed to help OTs with the prescription and issue of walking aids . Topics include an overview of gait , choice of walking aids , how to measure and use walking aids , elbow crutches walking frames and rollators . Delivered by Lynette Parkes OT . Time : 9.45am to 1pm . Cost : £ 36 per person for the first 10 people , then £ 60 per person ( inc VAT ).
