Board membership provides an opportunity to contribute to the future of the profession , through debate and discussion , with board members contributing their knowledge and experience to influence the strategic work of RCOT .

The Royal College of Occupational Therapists ( RCOT ) is seeking to recruit active and engaged members to contribute to their profession and make a difference by working with us . We have three Board Chair vacancies : Wales , Northern Ireland and Research and Development .
As Board Chair , you will need to :
• contribute appropriate leadership to the relevant board , ensuring that board members recognise and fulfil their responsibilities as described in the relevant boards ’ Terms of Reference .
• think strategically , be politically aware , have high-level insights into the activity of the board and be committed to best practice .
• contribute actively to debate and to inform the development of the profession .

Chair of the RCOT Board : Wales This role is for a professional member who is working and / or resident in Wales .
Chair of the RCOT Board : Northern Ireland This role is for a professional member who is working and / or resident in Northern Ireland .
Chair of the RCOT Board : Research and Development This role is for a UK professional member who is research-active and contributing to the expansion of the evidence base and research capability within the profession .
• The term of office is three years , commencing after the AGM .
• The Chair will be elected by Council .
• The boards normally meet three times a year either virtually or in person .
• All reasonable travel expenses for board related activities will be reimbursed .
• The boards provide a forum within which members can influence and inform the work of RCOT .
