Professional Development Officer

This is an exciting time to join RCOT as we set out to achieve our vision for people everywhere to value the life-changing power of occupational therapy . Plus , it ’ s a great time to join the Professional Development Team as we will be starting a major review of how we support members with their continuing professional development ( CPD ).
The team ’ s role is to create a positive culture of CPD with members and the wider profession . Working with the Professional Development Manager you will identify innovations to support CPD and lifelong learning . You will identify , develop , promote , maintain , and evaluate new learning resources , CPD activities and opportunities across the four pillars of practice and all levels of our Career Development Framework . We provide expert support and advice to internal and external collaborators to develop high quality CPD resources and activities .
To be successful in this role , you will be or have :
• extensive experience of supporting the learning and development of adult learners , ideally in a health and social care context .
• a robust understanding of all aspects of continuing professional development and lifelong learning , ideally within the context of health and social care .
• sound understanding of professional regulation , ideally in the health and social care sector .
• excellent verbal and written communication skills , with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders .
• highly motivated , flexible and able to work autonomously and as a positively engaged team member .
The salary for this role is circa £ 47,000 pa plus excellent benefits . It is a full-time role of 35 hours a per week . It is based at London Bridge , though due to the COVID pandemic all roles are currently adopting a hybrid approach to working flexibly between home and the office . Flexible working patterns may be considered .
