A look at the University of Southampton ’ s developing action on allyship within its occupational therapy programme .

A s occupational therapists and educators at the University of Southampton , we acknowledge the limited learning opportunities in relation to equity , diversity , inclusion and belonging ( EDIB ) across our programmes . The developing actions within our professional communities to recognise and own our collective responsibilities for EDIB and make an active contribution to meet this need has galvanised our action within the university ’ s occupational therapy programmes .

Our first steps towards this call for action and allyship were realised through delivery of a series of six sessions ( see box on page 22 ) integrated into a third year BSc module .
