RCOT ABLE OTUK Steering Group or RCOT LGBTQIA + OTUK Steering Group
At RCOT we want to lead the profession by advocating strongly for a culture which values , respects and celebrates diversity and positively supports those with lived experience . As part of our vision , we are setting up three RCOT Affinity Steering Groups and we are now recruiting for two of them .
We have partnered with ABLE OTUK and LGBTQIA + OTUK in setting up steering groups . The steering groups will be expert reference groups – a sounding board for ideas and projects as well as being a critical friend and ally to RCOT . They will help to raise the profile of relevant issues to inform our work .
We would like to invite members to join who identify themselves as either :
• Living with a disability or long-term condition or
• LGBTQIA +
Each group is recruiting six new members and this invitation is open to all RCOT members , irrespective of where they are in their career . This is a fantastic opportunity to influence and direct the work of RCOT .

In addition to the two groups mentioned above , BAME OTUK have also already put together a steering group that will spearhead conversations around black , brown , and minoritised ethnic groups in and around occupational therapy .
