Circus. The Camp was divided into two halves, the North Camp upon which the North East
Aircraft Museum is built, provided living and dining facilities for the men of No. 607
Durham Squadron. The South Camp, now under the Nissan Works contained the
armoury, pilots’ huts and squadron office, among other buildings.
Most of the historical references to the site coming into use begin in the 1930s. The area
