In January 2004, Lisa and James McLeod bought the Camp and began its regeneration:
there is now a nursery, restaurant and shop on site.
In 2005, north-east based paranormal investigation group, Anomalous Phenomena
Investigations (API) contacted the Camp and gained exclusive rights to investigate it for
signs of paranormal activity. On the 30th July of that year, myself and members of the
Otherworld North East team, along with members of Team Phenomena and The North East
Ghost In-Spectres were invited by API to attend their first overnight investigation at the
ancient monument.
After meeting up at the camp carpark, we all moved along to where a video detailing the
camp’s history was shown under cover - the sky itself had decided, it seemed, to dump as
much cold rain on the investigation that it could that night, and at 11pm, the assembled
groups split into teams and spread throughout the complex, specifically Huts 10, 13, 22,
and the Theatre, the locations chosen by the API team members.
