So what relevance does EMF have to the paranormal?
There are many different theories surrounding the relevance of EMF to the field of the
paranormal.
By some, EMF is believed to be something ghosts/spirits can use to manifest themselves
in/around. Perhaps it is something they can use to gain energy?
Others claim that ghosts/spirits can interfere with natural EMFs and thereby any change
in a natural EMF could be caused by something supernatural.
While others still feel the only real relevance of EMF to the paranormal is that attributed
to our own brain activity (which in itself, funnily enough, produces its very own EMFs!)
EMFs applied specifically to the temporal lobe regions of the brain are said to have the
most effect. Perhaps ghosts/spirits have nothing at all to do with EMFs, it is just an
increase in natural EMFs in the environment that can make us think there is something
paranormal occurring?
Finally, we have those people whom don’t believe there is any relevance to EMFs
whatsoever.
To date there is simply no evidence that ghosts or other forms of paranormal activity can
emit or give off an EMF. They also do not have any proven ability to use EMF from any man
made or natural sources.
A lot of research has been undertaken that does strongly suggest that when some people
are exposed to a powerful EMF (or a varying EMF) they may report sensations that they
may believe are paranormal in origin. (For example, reports have included a feeling of
being watched by something unseen, being touched, feeling anxious or generally uneasy,
more severely these people have also reported feeling nauseous and have had “Out of
Body” sensations).
These experiments have been conducted under what is currently believed to be “safe”
settings and should not be attempted to be recreated by anyone without the relevant
equipment. Simply sitting with your head up against your television set will not achieve
anything whatsoever!!
