Long-time Osseo businessman to lead this year ’ s parade
Paul Heinen has been chosen as the 2024 Osseo Lions Roar Parade grand marshal . He will be featured in the Osseo Lions Roar Parade on Saturday , Sept . 7 , starting at noon . Heinen started working fulltime at the his family ’ s dealership , Heinen ’ s Motorsports , when he was 15 years old , and continued working full time through high school and college . He worked in every facet of the dealership , helping set up farm irrigation . He was a mechanic , parts person and finally took over his father ’ s ownership in 1994 ( Yes , 30 years ago !).
He met his wife , April , in school in the seventh grade . They have two kids , Abbigail and Kolin .
The Heinen family has been an important part of the Osseo community since the 1930s .
With a passion for motorsports , Heinen took the little farm store / dealership and grew it to the largest volume Polaris dealer by 1999 . At the time , Polaris only made ATVs and snowmobiles , so Heinen sought out motorcycles and watercraft . He added Husqvarna Motorcycles in 1999 , Yamaha and Arctic Cat in 2003 , Suzuki in 2004 , MV Agusta in 2007 , Kymco in 2010 , Tige ’ boats in 2011 , Honda and Kawasaki in 2020 . He and his wife own two other businesses and over 25 properties .
Heinen ’ s favorite thing to do is still anything to do with motorsports . There isn ’ t a day that goes by that he isn ’ t riding or driving something , according to the Osseo Lions .
This year , Heinen ’ s Motorsports is donating two youth ATVs for the Osseo Lions Roar raffle .
The Osseo Lions want to thank Heinen for his continued support , and congratulate him on being named grand marshal of the 2024 Osseo Lions Roar .
