They are also forming partnerships with community organizations. They are looking to work with the Boys and Girls Club near Oakland Beach in Warwick. The Boys and Girls club has a teen center geared toward middle school age students. This teen center has a room that needs someone to work the audio/visual equipment. Pilgrim is looking into having some of their students work there as an internship/part time job. They are also looking into creating a feeder program at the middle school. Clearly, this is something that is continuously growing to fill a need.

As this program grows, so does the need for additional space. It became clear that they needed another room to allow filming and editing simultaneously. They currently are using another classroom setup with 28 Macs in addition to the 14 in the studio. They still need 10 more Macs to meet their needs. As this is the only large studio in the state, they will see an influx of additional students once this program is advertised, thus creating the need for even more space. Under consideration is moving the editing area into the former auto shop at the school. This will allow room for additional computer and lecture space.

New technologies are creating the need for new classes and new rooms to house these classes. It's great to see that a school like Pilgrim High School is on the cutting edge and doing what needs to be done to keep up with the changing ties and offering new, relevant classes.
