The purpose of this publication is to shed light on the activities and programs of our
members, as we believe many of these wonderful stories tend to remain behind the
scenes in today’s media world. I do lament sometimes that these are not the “front
page news” of our time or that this publication does not reach more people, but I
to read David Marble’s Blog!

encourage you all to give at least as much time to these stories as the rest of the
news intake you may consume.
In this issue, we look at everything from robots in the operating room to the changing
nature of the classroom to libraries teaching kids to build computers. Technology
has always had a disruptive impact on our institutional missions but never has it been
so pervasive. You could now posture that technology disruption should happen less
and less as preparation and integration of technology trends and impacts should
be standard fare for all. Still, it is fascinating to see how fast things are moving and
more interesting when we can highlight tangible progress being made by our member
community.
I thank our members for recognizing the importance of highlighting these stories and
for contributing to this issue, and I do hope you enjoy the read. Please forward to your
colleagues and friends!
